This is one of my favorites. What is Rock Bottom Remainders, you may ask. Well, they are one of my fav rock bands. You'll never hear them on the radio. They have never released an album or CD. They only perform once a year. So, who are they and why do I love them?
By day, they’re authors.Really famous authors.
But once a year they shed their pen-and-pencil clutching personas and become rock stars, complete with roadies, groupies and a wicked cool tour bus.

Do you recognize any of them from the back of their book jackets? Amy Tan, Dave Barry,
Greg Iles, James McBride, Kathi Goldmark, Matt Groening, Mitch Albom, Ridley Pearson,

Roy Blount, Scott Turow, Stephen King. Roger McGuinn and others guest for this one night show. Let me tell you, it is a rockin' good time; and all the money raised goes to charity for literacy programs.

Great hat, and it's fascinating to learn about the name. I'd not heard of them, but I know of them now!
That must be a fantastic night!
Just looked further down your posts and saw the email from the young man wanting a job. Yip, I'd hire him too!
Nice H:photo today. I can hear the rock music all over to Sweden.
I know Stephen King, who is famous for his terrifying novels and for many film adaptations :"the shining", for example!
miss Yves
Like Miss Yves I know Stephen King - well, not personnally! - but I am not a fan of horror.
Thanks for your visit and comment.
That's an interesting story to go with your H for hat. Not your ordinary hat. I love books, too. We have a small publishing company in British Columbia to sell my husbands books. We've learned a lot about reading, writing and selling in the last several years. I also liked your wordless tour of Murrieta. We have a part-time home in Southern California, but don't know it that well. - Margy
I didn't know about this band! Thanks for doing this....and I love the hat!
I've read several fo them, but didn't know about the rock tour. Of course, I'm not really partof the rock tour generation--now if they did a hootenanny...
