Lately...

Bob and Jan could be Hagar and Helga, lately. I haven't been doing much cooking. It's hot, but I've never let that bother me, before. I'm older, p l e a s e, I'm not that old. I think I know what it is, though, for the past 3 1/2 months my doctor and I have been working on my blood pressure.

Up until this year I've always had low blood pressure, so low, in fact, I had bragging rights. This year that changed, for some reason. The numbers started creeping up, and we agreed that it'd be best to try to control it. It's been quite an adventure.

The first med we tried, worked but I felt as if I had the flu and was hung-over, at the same time. In addition to lowering my blood pressure, it controlled my migraines; they had been creeping up to 3-4 a week, instead of 3 a month.

The second med wasn't all that great blood pressure-wise and the migraines got much worse.

The third med, was the same as the second, but with a diuretic. I don't drink a lot, of anything, so this proved to be a huge mistake. I had rapid heart palpitations, and almost fainted a couple of times. Can you say dehydration? Plus the migraines were so bad, I had one continuously for 3 1/2 weeks. Nothing worked, not one thing.

I had an appt. scheduled in a couple of weeks with my doc., so I changed back to the first med. and had two weeks of minimum migraines, but felt awful.

I had my appt. yesterday, and we're trying med. #4! It's early, I know, but today I feel pretty darn good, and may just start cooking, again. I don't want to rush into anything; I may wait, just in case. (That was a joke.)

I say go out to dinner again, just to be sure! This IS coming from the woman that never gets to eat out, ever. I would so take advantage of the situation. I hope that med #4 will work the magic you need it to and that you can get back to normal, whatever that may be.

Sorry to hear that you have had such a rough go of it. My neighbor has the same problems...symptoms as you. I'm praying number 4 is the key to good health. I say eat out as mcuh as you can. It is so nice when someone else cooks it and even better when they claen up too,! Makes my heart happy!

I sure hope the 4th medication does the trick.

Well I hope they find a good med for it soon. :) XO I've had propranolol for mine for many years and it seems to work good.
