As I mentioned earlier, I'm going to be participating, starting Friday, February 1, in One World One Heart. Well I'm really excited about that, and I think I'll give away something else, today. There's no reason except I want to. It's a book! Not just any book but a First Edition, signed by the author. It's not brand new, because I've read it.
Here's the back-story: I met Adriana Trigiani at a trade show, Book Expo America, two years ago in Washington DC. She gave me a hug and kissed me on the cheek. She didn't have any ARC's (Advance Reader Copies) of Home to Big Stone Gap, with her at the show, but took my card and promised to send me one. It never came. Finally the hardcover was released in October 2006, and I received a brand new hardcover in the mail signed, Love, Adriana. I was sure was surprised. She's a busy, best selling author, I figured she'd forgotten, or lost my business card.
So, if you'd love to have a signed first edition of Home to Big Stone Gap, leave a comment on this posting. I'll do a drawing on February 7th for the winner. I chose February 7th because it's Chinese New Year, and I teach Tai Chi.

Also..I knew you were cool, but DIDN'T know about the Tai Chi.
My kids are in Tae Kwon Do, and frankly the politics of that just SUCK, and I can't get into it, but a couple months ago, I took my first Tai Chi class, and loved it. My teacher has black belts in several types of martial arts, and then got into Tai Chi. I got my husband to take the next series. He liked it also.
We are looking for local classes now.
