Our nearby hills are painted with poppies and other wildflowers. The "show" started last week, and will probably go on for another couple of weeks. Last year we had drought conditions, not unusual in Southern California, but this year we've had an abundance of rain. Yeah.
Here some different striking blooms that are also painting the hills; unfortunately, I don't know their name.

We got 11 inches of snow yesterday. :::sigh:::
Gorgeous photographs! I especially love the hillsides. *sigh*

Why do I live in cold, dreary, gray Michigan?
Oh those are so beautiful!!! I'm loving it! Breathing deep. . . .
beautiful..I love our california wild flowers!!!
I thought the hills were lit by a sunset at first. What a glorious show! I grew California Poppies in my tiny garden patch when I was a kid, and I loved them so much. It never occurred to me that they actually grew wild in California!
I love CA poppies, but they won't grow for me in Virginia. Sigh...
Such lovely pictures! Would you mind if I print a couple for my dresser?
