What is wrong with these people?

In last week's newspaper were brief mentions of two really scummy people.

The first is a La Quinta doctor, George Steven Kooshian, 58. He pleaded guilty to two counts of health care fraud and two counts of making false statements related to health care matters. What exacting did he do wrong, you may ask? He gave watered down medicine to HIV and AIDS patients. His co-defendant, Virgil Opinion, 29, has also pleaded guilty. They're looking at up to 50 years in federal prison, when sentenced in May. I hope it's really close to 50 years.

The second is an electrician, 35 year old David Mitchell Clark, who hid cameras in two homes. A woman found a hidden camera in her bathroom. A video recording device found in her attic led investigators to a second home where a couple had also employed Clark to do electrical work. Though he denied any wrong-doing in the first case, he told investigators he hid the camera in the couple's home because "the wife was 'hot'." If convicted of all the crimes involved, residential burglary and disorderly conduct, Clark could have faced about six years in state prison. Instead he pleaded guilty to one count of first -degree residential burglary, and only drew 9 months and 3 years probation. He is now labeled a sex offender. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
