Pay It Forward

I have a mental list of people, I'd like to meet In Real Life. They're my blogging buddies, the great people who touch me, and let me know that I touch them. On my IRL list is Leedra. She's an awesome blogger and photographer. Recently she did a Pay It Forward, and I was one of the lucky recipients. Leedra sent me some things she knew I'd love. Two inspirational bookmarks, a package flower seeds, that are going in the ground right away, and one of her beautiful photo greeting cards.

Here are her URL's, in case you want to check her out:
Leedra’s Photos For Fun, Leedra’s Greeting Cards, Photography By Leedra.

Of course, I'm going to also Pay It Forward, and here's the rules:

I will send a gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment to this post on the blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. I do not know what that gift will be yet, and it won’t be sent this month, probably not next month, but it will be sent (within 6 months) and that’s a promise! What YOU have to do in return, then, is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog.

Now remember you have to be in the first three that sign up to do this (you can comment without signing up!) and you have to pass it on. Be sure I have your e-mail or your blog address so I can get in touch with you."
I am very excited to participate in this. So if you would like to join in this Pay It Forward, please leave me a comment and tell me that you would like to join in the fun. The first 3 people will receive something from me within the next 6 months!!!

If you find yourself unable to comment; please hit the HOME button at the top left of this blog.

Pay it Forward

WHAT IS “PAY IT FORWARD”?

“Pay It Forward” is a book written by Catherine Ryan Hyde, released in 2000, but it's also an action plan within a work of fiction. Is it only fiction? I don't think so; it's a way of life.
My "Pay It Forward" will actually be about books, I know, you're shocked. If you want to be on the receiving end, leave a comment, include the word BOOK, and be one of the first three with BOOK in your comment. Be sure I have a way of contacting you. There is one further rule. Upon receipt of my "Pay It Forward", you must be willing to do one of your own on your blog, within one month.

So, basic rules:
Mention BOOK
Do your own Pay It Forward ( this means you must have a blog.)

After I mail out my Pay It Forward, I'll post a photo of what it was.

Pay It Forward

Last week, Jenny at Stickyfeathers wanted to know what her readers "had done have done for someone else out of the kindness of your sweet little hearts!" I told her about my experience of being on the receiving end, and how I pay it forward.

This was about 12-15 years ago, I was at the grocers, early in the AM, on my way to work; picking up odds and ends I needed for my store. (I was a retail manager at Crabtree & Evelyn.) I hadn't brought store petty cash with me, so I was using my cash, and this was in the olden days, before debit cards. I was a dollar and change short of funds for my total. I was deciding what to put back, when the woman behind me in line gave the cashier what was needed. I was in my neighborhood, but didn't know this woman, and she wouldn't give me her info, so I could pay her back.

Since this happened to me, I pay for others who are a little short at the register. When I first started working at Barnes and Nobel, seven years ago, I frequently was a cashier. I always put extra money in my pocket, just in case. It was usually kids that were short money, and any child that reads is a good thing, so I made up the difference many times.

How about you? How do you pay it forward? What inspired you?
