Ruby Tuesday

Happy Ruby Tuesday. These photos are SOOC, a new term for me, (I learned it here.) It means Straight out of Camera; in other words, I didn't do a thing to enhance these photos. Nada. We get so use to "tweaking" most of our photos, I think it's refreshing to just leave a good photo alone.

Bob and I spotted this antique coupe when we left the diner this week. Some one put a lot of work into it. It even had an automatic trani!

See that little hole in the front of the grill? That's where the crank went, to start the engine, originally.

Ruby Tuesday

For today, Mary requested that we show our Halloween displays, with a touch of red, of course.
I've never decorated for Halloween, but I love decorating for fall. Here is my Autumn display on my front porch; a wagon full of gourds and autumn leaves, with Mr. Scarecrow, and some apples. Last year I did something similar, but with pumpkins. Huge mistake, the sun baked the pumpkins, right on my front porch. What a mess!

The first photo is of a magnolia seed pod.

The second, about 10 days later, is the red seeds, after the pod opens.

This lovely young lady is Erin at 2, having a cooking lesson with me, her Grandma. She's a wonderful 15 1/2 year old, now, and we're very proud of her. Here she is, being a red-head.

This year she's marching in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and is very busy with fundraising. If you have any extra change in your pocket, click here - http://www.wjhsbands.org/.

Erin tossing a rifle, during a parade.  Isn't she darling?

Ruby Tuesday

Ruby Tuesday participants can be found here.

This week, I decided to go with a little bit of red.
This white hibiscus has a red staminal column and anthers.
This was taken in La Jolla, last week.

Ruby Tuesday

This is my one and only successful photo of a hummingbird!! Yeah, for me. Visit all the other Ruby People at Mary's place.
Well, today we're off to La Jolla to the Scripps Green Hospital, to do all the pre-op stuff for Bob's surgery tomorrow. Early last week, he started a count-down, he's really excited about the chance to live with less pain. We're both optimistic, and we hope to be home by Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, I have to tough it out at the La Jolla Hilton, right on the Torrey Pines Golf Course. Of course, there's a good chance Bob will again have a golf course view from his hospital room. Last time the U.S. Open was going on!

Ruby Tuesday - Ring

Ruby Tuesday brought to us by The Teach, at Work of the Poet.

Tomorrow, is my oldest daughter's 40th birthday. I've given her this ring. Bob bought it for me the first time we were in St. Thomas, and I love it. I hope she'll love it, too.

I no longer wear my rings, so I decided to take them out of the jewelry box and give them, slowly, to my daughters.

Ruby Tuesday - Hollyhocks

Ruby Tuesday brought to us by The Teach, at Work of the Poet.

I'm making a list of those who want Hollyhock seeds, this year.

If you're interested, just let me know, and I'll send you some after I harvest them.
